“Research shows that management perceived as hostile or inconsistent is as significant a risk factor for journalists’ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as the severity of trauma exposure,” says NUJP secretary-general Rowena Paraan in her presentation during the last leg of the seminar on “Journalism and Trauma” in Cebu City for PPI members in the Visayas.

Participants agreed that newsrooms have to establish coping mechanisms to help journalists cope with traumatic experiences.
